Here is an example for a search on communication development and child and reading skills.

PubMed uses Automatic Term Mapping (ATM) that matches terms to Medical Subject Headings (MeSH), journal titles, phrases, or an author, in that order.  If the term is not matched, it is searched in all fields.

Find out how PubMed interpreted your search by selecting See more under the Search Details box.

The automatic term mapping (ATM) mechanism matches your term(s) to PubMed's Medical Subject Headings (MeSh). You can type directly in the SEARCH DETAILS box to adjust your search terms if necessary.
