Wednesday, August 28, 2013

10:15 a.m.

We are pleased to welcome Jean Ponzi as the Convocation speaker for Fall 2013.

On behalf of the EarthWays Center, Jean responds to public inquiries with resources, referrals and information on sustainable practices, products and services. She also serves as Residential Green Building Advocate for USGBC-Missouri Gateway and in concert with the Homebuilders Association of St. Louis promotes green building to area homeowners and businesses. Her expertise includes recycling and waste reduction, air quality, native plant landscaping, energy efficiency – and the ecological and economic connections between these practices.

Jean has written for Home Energy, Grist and Missouri Resources magazines and many local publications, and she regularly represents EarthWays Center in print and electronic media coverage. She has also produced and hosted a weekly environmental radio talk show, “Earthworms,” on FM-88 KDHX for over 20 years. In addition, Jean represents the City of St. Louis on the executive board of the St. Louis Jefferson Solid Waste Management District and has served on the board of the Missouri Recycling Association.
