Jack C. Taylor Library

Why the Library?

Students often use Google to complete research assignments unless instructors direct them otherwise. Why should you tell your students to use library resources?

  • They have more access to scholarly resources without searching through 1.5 million results
  • They will present better scholarship in their papers and assignments resulting in more informed thinking
  • Can consult experts in information search and evaluation, gaining the skills and confidence they need to thrive in your course

We are here to help you find ways to use the library to support your teaching. We can:

  • Set up Course Reserves for in-library use
  • Demonstrate how to access library materials on and off-campus
  • Provide instruction sessions to help students get started with a specific assignment
  • Identify what journals and other digital resources/databases in your subject area are available through the library
  • Locate articles and other materials to support your courses and research projects
  • Provide a digital space to host student papers and projects
  • Brainstorm other ways we can support your academic needs
